Special Ayurvedic Program Begins in January at Sacred Stone Academy

Sacred Stone Academy, in Newport, will begin its 26-day Ayurvedic Bodywork Specialist (ABS) program on January 17, 2020. Graduates can expect to become certified and proficient in hands-on healing using the ancient wisdom of Ayurvedic principles to remedy the stress of today’s world. This metaphysical training will offer guided practice, concepts and theory in the foundations of medical Ayurveda.

Students will learn how to identify and classify pain, administer specific pain remedies and apply organic herbal oils with heated and chilled sea stones and crystals. Students will also work with applications of healing salts, honey and pastes, fresh lemons and marma pressure points. They will learn how to anoint therapeutic substances over the centers within the body along with sound therapy principles, energy medicine, steam and raw silk glove friction modalities.

Additionally, students will be introduced to the concepts of cupping, shamanic rattles, feathers, drums and five-metal Tibetan cowbells. Harmonizing bodywork modalities with the seasons, doshic diets, circadian rhythms, cosmology and daily routine protocols will be explored. The material in the 280-page illustrated ABS manual and the instructional DVDs are rooted in the time proven healing modalities of pancha karma, a Sanskrit word referring to India’s ancient purification and rejuvenation system.
