Divine Images Sanctuary Day Spa owner, Mary Perry, believes that routinely taking time to relax the mind and de-stress the body is key to maintaining good health and avoiding disease. Around this time of year, holiday stress and cold dry winter weather set in to adversely affect people’s health. Perry has created a unique space to relax and rejuvenate body, mind and spirit. Her 30 years of experience and her research into natural and non-invasive treatments have helped her to develop a unique and effective menu of services, which include the specialties of halotherapy and HydraFacial.

Halotherapy (Dry Salt Therapy) is a natural treatment that helps clients reduce symptoms from many respiratory conditions including asthma, allergies, colds, coughs, COPD, cystic fibrosis, ear infections, sinus infections, headaches and snoring. Halotherapy is also effective against skin disorders like eczema, emphysema and psoriasis. It is anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, antimicrobial and boosts the immune system.

Divine Images uses a halogenerator to grind pure pharmaceutical grade salt from the Himalayan mountains into a fine dry mist, which is then breathed deeply into the lungs and sinuses. The salt air improves breathing in multiple ways; it helps expand the capacity of the lung’s air sacs (alveoli) and breaks up mucus and congestion. Beyond therapeutic benefits, some professional athletes use halotherapy to improve performance.

Sitting inside the halotherapy salt booth, with clothes on, the client takes deep diaphragmatic breaths while listening to peaceful music. Each session lasts 15 minutes. Typically, two to three visits are required to achieve the desired results, however, many people have seen improvement within their first visit. Halotherapy is safe for children and adults. The booth has two seats, so that a parent can attend to a child in treatment. People with heart issues, lung cancer, or infectious diseases will require a doctor’s note.

HydraFacial resurfacing treatment uses a vortex tip to pull up toxins from the skin, infuse nutrients deep into the skin and renew skin at the cellular level. It targets sun-damaged skin, blackheads and whiteheads, enlarged pores, acne, brown spots and early aging fine lines and wrinkles. With proper care, skin regenerates itself in 28 days, sloughing off old dead skin cells and replacing them with fresh new ones. HydraFacial supports this process. While clients will notice a dramatic improvement after the first session, a second session 14 days later will provide more complete results.

The four-step process combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection. It is soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive and non-irritating method that uses peptides, and hyaluronic acidwhich is a lubricating substance produced naturally by the human body. As people age molecules in the skin lose some of their ability to bind and retain water. The use of specially formulated skin treatments helps retain collagen, increase moisture, and provide elasticity and flexibility.

In addition to detoxifying and regenerating the skin, the facial is relaxing. “Relaxation is the best health medicine for well-being,” says Perry. She educates clients in continuing therapeutic skin care at home with Eminence Organic Skin Care products, made using sustainable farming and green practices. These Biodynamic products are ideal for conscious holiday gift giving.
