The instructors at Ananda Meditation & Yoga Center inspire joy, love and peace through spiritually-oriented hatha yoga, kirtan, kriya yoga, meditation and more. The studio is based in the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and was founded by Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Yogananda. The center is located on a beautiful country road that provides ample opportunity to commune with nature. Weekly Sunday service includes meditation, music, chanting, readings, inspirational talk and an uplifting Festival of Light ceremony followed by potluck lunch.

Style of Yoga: Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga
Jane Viscolosi has been practicing and studying the teachings of yoga since 1996. She has taught thousands of classes to Rhode Island students since 2002 and has co-facilitated yoga teacher trainings in the area prior to opening her own studio. In 2015, she introduced Believe You Can, a Yoga Alliance RYS-200 registered school. Viscolosi is a RYT-500-hour certified Baptiste power vinyasa yoga teacher. As Baron Baptiste is her primary teacher, she has also completed yoga teacher training with Beryl Bender-Birch and Ana Forrest.

Grace School of Yoga was founded in 2009 by Judy McClain (e-RYT, RYT 500), a devotional yogi and Grace ashram resident. The school is a space for supporting growth in body and spirit through the practice of classical yoga and meditation. McClain’s teachings are inspired by her guru, Sri Dharma Mittra. She is a recipient of Best Yoga Instructor in Newport County by readers of Newport Life Magazine, and the studio is a winner of the Best of Rhode Island Monthly award. Raffa Yoga Active Relaxation Center has been serving yogis throughout the community since 2000. The industry-leading, green-built, energy-efficient facility features three yoga studios, 21 massage and therapeutic treatment rooms, six health therapy relaxation rooms, a raw juice bar and a wellness boutique. The studio is also in the process of installing a new cedar Finlandian sauna. Monthly memberships are available for both yoga and therapeutic massage. Styles of Yoga: Svaroopa Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga
Natalie Schiffer, CSYT, RYT-500, E-RYT-200, currently offers classes and private yoga therapy in Svaroopa yoga at multiple locations in Rhode Island. Schiffer has more than 700 hours of teacher and yoga therapy training in the advanced levels of Svaroopa yoga and continues to study with the Svaroopa Vidya Ashram in Pennsylvania. Svaroopa uses specially aligned poses and supportive propping for core and spinal opening to soften the body and cultivate peace of mind. The classes are accessible to beginners and can deepen the practice of experienced yogis.
